Joshua as Mister Bungee in A NEW BRAIN

Joshua Finkel caught the manic hilarity of the lead's crazy kiddie show boss

--RICK TALCOVE, B'nai Brith Life National Edition

Also gems who sparkled last night. Finkel’s amusingly quirky Mr. Bungee

Joshua in HOLLYWOOD REVISITED

"It's nothing short of breathtaking, especially as performed by the talented Joshua Finkel. Finkel comes out in a toga worn by Curtis in Spartacus and sings Sondheim's "Lovely" from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Finkel has a lot of fun as, bare-chested, he struts about a la Hercules, flexing his muscles to the delight of ladies in the audience. Finkel also has a field day with his The Flintstones costume in leopard as well as one worn by Arnold S. in the remake of Around the World in Eighty Days. Other  of his musical highlights include: "The Impossible Dream", "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better" and a lyric change for the show's opener and closer to the song "That's Entertainment."

Orin the Dentist in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at the PETERBOROUGH PLAYERS 2009

"Joshua Finkel plays Audrey's boyfriend, a motorcycle riding, nitrous-oxide huffing "professional' intent on bringing pain to everyone he come across. Finkel's performance is both hilarious and disturbing, satisfying the audience's need to hate the odious and laugh at the absurd."

--DAVE EISENSTADTER, The Monadnock Sentinel Transcript

Man #1 in I LOVE YOU YOU'RE PERFECT NOW CHANGE at the PETERBOROUGH PLAYERS 2009

"An amazing actor and singer chosen for versatility, Joshua Finkel plays a nerd, a man's man, a bore and a stud to name a few. A wonderful sensitive moment is when he plays an old man who reflects on his whole life spent being in love with his wife. After wrestling with that choice, he pours her another cup of coffee sweetly over the morning paper."

Bamatabois in LES MISERABLES AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL
"You were the best Bamatabois I've seen and I also thank you for your invaluable help in putting the show together and helping to get me your wonderful students in the show. They were the highlight for me."
--RICHARD JAY ALEXANDER, Director of Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl

Lew Fields in PAZZAZZ! at the Granada Theater in Santa Barbara
"The leads in the cast worked well. Joey D’Auria and Joshua Finkel as Weber and Fields seemed to honestly enjoy their roles and gave us a sense of the great partnership. A spoof on Cleopatra showcased the comedy team’s patter and puns. The concept to give us a taste of their vaudeville vernacular was quite entertaining and historically satisfying and exemplary."
--ERIN GRAFFY DeGARCIA, Montecito Journal

Eddie Dukoff et al in The Kid From Brooklyn at the El Portal
Olivier is played by the superb Joshua Finkel, who also plays Sam Goldwyn, Billy Rose, Cole Porter, Kaye's first agent, Eddie Dukoff, and a number of other significant people in Kaye's life. He gives each an individuality that makes the show appear to have a cast of thousands.
--CYNTHIA CITRON, Curtain Up

"Spearheading a talented cast...Joshua Finkel, who plays several characters manages to do some nifty character work along the way. "
--F. KATHLEEN FOLEY, Los Angeles Times

"Joshua Finkel works hard as the various celebs the couple interacted with, offering terrific accompaniment on 'Triplets' and 'Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen.'"
--BOB VERINI, Variety

"The two leads are wonderfully supported by versatile and talented performer, Joshua Finkel who is required to act out all the other people involved in Kaye’s life. No mean feat that, but Finkel pulls it off with aplomb."
--ROBERT MACHRAY, StageMage

Lumiere in Cabrillo Music Theater's Beauty and the Beast
As the French candelabra Lumiére, Joshua Finkel nearly outshone (pun intended) all the other performers. Finkel led the show's most delightful musical sequence, the can-canlike "Be Our Guest," featuring a boutique of high-kicking animated kitchen utensils.
--CARY GINELL, The Thousand Oaks Acorn

"Despite one's initial reaction that Joshua Finkel is too short for the role of rascally candlestick Lumiere, the actor parlays the character into a glittering supporting turn."
--LES SPINDLE, Backstage

"The third Equity actor in "Beauty" is Joshua Finkel, who plays Lumiere, the man turning into a candelabrum, with a wickedly funny take on the insouciant French."
--RITA MORAN, Ventura County Star

Les Miserables School Edition
"I could not imagine a better production of this version of the show."
--RICHARD JAY ALEXANDER, Director of 11 Companies of LES MIS worldwide.

I’ve seen Les Misérables before, but never with so much pleasure.Joshua Finkel directed; and when those Revolutionist-choristers piled up against the Paris barricades and fought off the right-wingers you couldn’t ask for better musical theater at any price.
--ALAN RICH, LA Weekly

"Joshua Finkel, a veteran of the Les Miserables national tour and Los Angeles Company, put together a very professional-looking production with impressive sets, lighting, and costumes."
--ROB HOPPER, National Youth Theatre

"Your skillful and thorough hand was always in evidence -- in the uncommonly deep and emotionally rich choices with which the principals attacked their songs, in the way the ensemble stayed present and active every moment they were on, and in the way the entire company and crew pulled together to tell the story, relatively smoothly and clearly. You're really finding the heart of the piece with these kids. It's clearly a huge undertaking, and beautifully done. Bravo, congratulations, and have a great opening night and run!"
--DAVID GOLDSMITH, Lyricist

Never Gonna Dance at Musical Theatre West
"Joshua Finkel garners huge laughs as Penny's flamboyant Latin lover, Ricardo Romero."
-- LA TIMES, CRITIC'S PICK

"Joshua Finkel gets laughs as the scenery-chewing Latin lover Ricardo"
--TALKIN' BROADWAY

"Hilarious camp sensibility comes courtesy of Joshua Finkel's loopy Latin Lothario and his backup singers."
--BACKSTAGE WEST, CRITIC'S PICK

"There are plenty of bright performances. Joshua Finkel, as the Latin lover
Ricardo Romero, is wonderfully comic."
--THE LONG BEACH PRESS TELEGRAM

"Joshua Finkel hones comedic narcissism to an art form as Ricardo Romero, the Latin heartthrob in pursuit of Penny, a hothead hambone who mangles the English language (and who never goes anywhere without his trio of backup singers)."
--OC REGISTER

"A hilarious subplot involves Deborah Fauerbach, as Engels’ fiancée, and Joshua Finkel as Damiano’s over-the-top Latin lover. "
